Captain Mixson started his Law Enforcement career in 1987, at the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy. Over the years Captain Mixson has worked in many different areas of the Sheriff’s Office. Captain Mixson is currently assigned over the Judicial Services Division.
Captain Mixson is the Past President of the Berkeley County Fraternal Order of Police, where he has served as President for 19 years. He is also the former State President of the South Carolina Fraternal Order of Police. Captain Mixson’s second passion is motorcycles. Captain Mixson is also a National Riding Coach for Harley Davidson.
Captain Mixson has two children, Alan and Taylor. Alan is a Sgt. in the United States Air Force and Taylor works for Berkeley County Magistrates Office. Captain Mixson has 5 grandchildren.
