Captain Dan Wilson has over 34 years in law enforcement. In 1987 after 7 years active duty in the U.S. Air Force he was hired as a federal officer with the U.S. Customs Service assigned to the Aviation Support Unit in Corpus Christi Texas. In 1991 he transferred to the Port of Charleston’s U.S Custom’s Inspection and Control Division and post 9/11 Customs and Border Protection’s Field Operations, during which he served on numerous selective enforcement teams achieving the rank of Supervisory CBP Officer.
In 1993 while a federal officer, he completed the required training course to become a BCSO Reserve Officer serving in this capacity for various low country law enforcement agencies until 2007.
In 2009 after serving 22 years as a federal officer, he was hired as a full time deputy with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

He is married to his wife Debbie of 41 years. Both are members of New Start Community Church of the Nazarene in Manning.
