Chief Deputy Jeremy Baker is a resident of Berkeley County.
Growing up in Ladson he attended Stratford High School and graduated in 1996.
Chief Deputy Baker graduated from Trident Technical College with a degree in Criminal Justice in 1999 and then attended College of Charleston where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2001.
Chief Deputy Baker started with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office in 2000 as a Reserve Deputy and was hired fulltime in 2001.
Chief Deputy Baker started as a Patrol Deputy and then transferred to the K-9 Unit where he was promoted through the ranks.
Chief Deputy Baker has been assigned to various federal task forces to include the FBI Violent Crime Task Force and the DEA Task Force.
Chief Deputy Baker is married with two children.
