Captain David Kolega is a resident of Berkeley County.

He started his career in law enforcement in 1997 as an explorer and joined the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office in 2007. Captain Kolega has been assigned to many specialized units to include community-oriented policing and narcotics. 

Captain Kolega graduated from Eastern Gateway Community College with his associates degree in Criminal Justice. Summa Cum Laude. He also received the FBI LEEDA Trilogy Award in 2018.

Captain Kolega is married and has 3 children.
